Christmas Tree CupCakes

Don't worry! That's not just a big pile of frosting!

I wanted to make a soft serve cupcake, but I just couldn't do what everybody else does! I seriously have issues.
So after I had cooked my one lonely cupcake (this was practice, don't quite need a dozen Christmas trees yet!) I turned the cone upside down, rolled the collar in dark chocolate, whipped up some vegan buttercream frosting and....

Nearly Cried! Where was my big star piping nozzle?!?!
Okay I found it after much kitchen dishevel. In the cling wrap draw. (men, really)

The baubles and star are made out of marzipan. I would love to use those cute little cachous but they have gelatin! grr. I think when I make some for chrissy I'll make different coloured balls and pipe thin lines around for tinsel, and make the icing more green! I ran out of colour (It takes a lot!)

What's everyone else doing to get ready for Chirstmas?
To be honest I never do my shopping or even start thinking about it till mid December. But it's fun sometimes to get into the spirit! Okay, more like it's fun to have an excuse to bake.

  1. That looks really awesome! I'm wondering if I could possibly do a large cake version of that (there'd have to be cake running within the length of the tree frosting though).

I haven't bothered doing Christmas shopping yet, and I'm feeling pressured and stressed about it! I don't like the presents part of Christmas, which everyone else seems to love.

  2. Great idea...! I reckon you cook like a log cake, stand it on it's end and cut it into a cone? Let me know if you try it!
Good luck with the shopping :/ I'm usually feeling the same but lucky my family has just decided to focus on spending time together and just give each other money and hit the sales together instead~ (^_^)
