Raw Pumpkin Smoothie

Okay, it's spring now where I live, and we definitely don't have the same sort of love for sweet pumpkin dishes as in other parts of the world (No pumpkin in a can or pumpkin pie here) but I'm looking to incorporate as many different foods in my raw detox, so here's my pumpkin hit. Inspired by This Recipe from In the Raw, I adapted it as I'm not allowed nut milk or sweetener, and I like to be able to taste the spice.

Pumpkin Smoothie  raw, vegan, gluten free



1 Tbs Chia seeds
1 Cup Water
1 cup diced pumpkin (I used kent variety that was easy to cut)
1 1/2 frozen bananas
1tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp allspice

Soak chia seeds in water for about 20 mints. Add to blender and blend smithereens (into a milk). 
Slowly add the pumpkin and banana, then add the spices. Blend until completely smooth, add ice if too warm.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve, Delish!
